Megalochori lies in the south-western part of the island. The village centre is picturesque with its blue-domed churches and narrow streets winding through neighbourhoods with traditional Cycladic houses, local shops and a beautiful square with colourful flowers surrounded by amazing restaurants.

It is also known for its vineyards and is world famous for its magnificent wine. In fact, the owner's brother has the oldest winery in the village, Gavalas Winery, which is in the centre of the village next to the village square. It is open every day and offers guests tours of the winery and wine tasting. In late August, the guests of Aspronisi Luxury Villa have the opportunity to participate in the wine-making and traditional grape stomping process.

At a short distance from Aspronisi Luxury Villa, guests can visit the Christos T' Athermi beach, which up until 1963 was home to functioning thermal baths. The beach is small, in the caldera and can only be accessed by foot.

Megalochori is 9.5 km away from the centre of Fira, 14.5 km from the airport, 3 km from the port, 5 km from the famous black sand beach of Perissa / Perivolos and 4 km from the prehistoric village of Akrotiri and the red sand beach.

Also, there is a bus stop only 200 metres from the Villa offering public transport to all parts of the island.
